Admissions

A selective pathway for ambitious students ready to think, build, and lead with AI.

Edison AI Academy is for students who are curious, ambitious, and ready to develop serious AI fluency. Our admissions process helps us understand each student's interests, learning readiness, goals, and fit.

Why admissions matters

Edison is not a drop-in class. It is a serious learning environment.

Because our programs involve live mentorship, project work, peer critique, and portfolio development, we want to make sure each student is placed into the right learning environment. This is not about filtering for perfection — it is about creating a cohort where students grow together.

01

Is the student ready for this kind of learning?

02

Which program level is the best fit?

03

How can we support them to succeed?

Who we look for

We look for potential, not polish.

Students do not need prior AI or coding experience to apply. The strongest students are not always the ones with the most experience — they are the ones ready to think deeply and keep improving.

Curiosity

Genuine interest in AI, technology, creativity, or the future.

Willingness to build

Ready to try difficult things and ship real projects.

Open to feedback

Comfortable giving and receiving thoughtful critique.

Consistent attendance

Shows up reliably for live sessions and project work.

Ethical use

Respects responsible and considered use of AI.

Creator mindset

Wants to make and originate, not just consume.

The admissions process

A clear four-step pathway.

  1. 01

    Submit an Application

Families begin with a short application form so we can understand the student's background, interests, and goals.

    What we ask / consider
    • Student age and year level
    • Learning interests
    • Prior experience with AI, coding, design, or technology
    • Goals for joining Edison AI Academy
    • Parent or guardian contact details
    • Preferred cohort or program intake
  2. 02

    Student Readiness Review

Our team reviews the student's profile and recommends a placement: Foundations, Builders, Innovators, a future cohort, or a preparation pathway.

    What we ask / consider
    • Age and developmental stage
    • Technical confidence
    • Learning goals
    • Communication readiness
    • Project-building readiness
    • Ability to participate in live sessions
  3. 03

    Admissions Conversation

A relaxed conversation — not a formal exam — to understand the student as a learner. Parents or guardians are welcome to join.

    What we ask / consider
    • Why the student is interested in AI
    • What they enjoy learning or creating
    • Projects, ideas, or tools they have explored
    • Confidence with technology
    • What they hope to gain from Edison
    • Which pathway may be most suitable
  4. 04

    Offer and Enrolment

Accepted students receive an offer for the most suitable pathway, followed by structured onboarding before the program begins.

    What we ask / consider
    • Recommended program level
    • Cohort dates and session format
    • Tuition details and enrolment instructions
    • Onboarding requirements
    • Key expectations for students and families
